Ready made or store brought Grenadine is mostly made with Corn syrup,natural and artificial flavors.So it is better to reduce pomegranate juice and sugar to make your own easy to make Grenadine Syrup.

Grenadine is a commonly used bar syrup, It is both tart and sweet, and a deep red color.
It is commonly used to mix both modern and classic cocktails, for both for its flavor and to give a reddish/pink tint to mixed drinks, such as the Tequila Sunrise.

Grenadine is also a popular ingredient in many non-alcoholic drinks or simply by mixing the syrup with cold water in a glass or pitcher, sometimes with ice.

Basically it is pomegranate syrup or sorbet. 

The name grenadine originated from the French word grenade which means pomegranate 
Grenadine was originally prepared from pomegranate juice, sugar, and water and few drops of Lemon juice.

How To Make Homemade Grenadine Syrup
Makes 1/2 cup

Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup 100% unsweetened pomegranate juice
1/2 lemon (optional)
You can easily double the quantities and it can store in a fridge,

Method:
In a sauce pan or wide pot combine the pomegranate juice and sugar, Boil on high until slightly thick or reduce to half.
Remove from fire add couple of drops of fresh  lemon juice.
Store in a clean bottle in fridge, you can store it safely for one month.

You just made pure Grenadine syrup of your own.
